InfoWorks ICM buildings now have 'Drainage' property
It is now possible to model the impact of a SuDS or LIDs structure, such as a rain barrel, without using a SuDS control object inside of InfoWorks ICM 2025.2. A new property, Drainage contribution, has been added to a building's properties. It’s used to specify the percentage of runoff from the roof that enters the drainage system via a building's “Drains to” object, and is included in the total outflow calculation.

InfoWorks ICM Return Period Analysis
Просмотров 9315 часов назад
As you likely know, RPA grid reports are comprehensive documents that provide detailed analysis and results of drainage system performance over different return periods (eg, a 1-year, 10-year, or 100-year storm event). The RPA grid report produced in InfoWorks ICM can help you understand how a drainage system will perform under various rainfall conditions. Love the water industry? Fill up on mo...

Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) is a toxic, colorless gas that can build up in sewer systems when organic matter decomposes. Chemical oxidation and other straightforward - but sometimes expensive - methods can be used to remove or minimize the risk of exposure, but hydraulic models can help as well. In fact, there is a quick-and-simple tool built into InfoWorks ICM that can help with evaluating risk of ...

In the catchment area section, Infodrainage requests the coefficient of runoff and the percentage of impervious area. I find this part a bit confusing. Shouldn't the percentage of impervious area directly correlate with the runoff coefficient? For example, if my catchment area is a road with a runoff coefficient of 0.9 (indicating that most of the water runs off), wouldn't the percentage of impervious area be 90%? Even though the entire road is impervious, we assume 10% of it could infiltrate, which is why the runoff coefficient is 0.9. You have kept the percentage of impervious area as 100 in the video.

In UK we use to do spacing of gully using Excel, can we do the same in Infodrainage directly ? or the way you show the inlet i assume it will check the hydraulic capacity only, can we get the number of inlet required for suppose 100m stretch of road?

In a 1D model- How do you define a 100yr WSE at the outfall as a Boundary condition to see the backwater/tailwater effects during a 100 yr flood event? Do you just have the WSE level as the Flood Level (ft AD) specified/inputted in the outfall node?

Why was it decided to put to have your inputs for wastewater (sanitary) into 'Catchment Area'? It is completely counter intuitive. Furthermore the UI is quite confusing and awkward when designing wastewater, the UI for Microdrainage was far more straight forward, intuitive and user friendly. This begs the question - if it ain't broke why fix it?

Microdrainage's roots go back 30 years to 1983. (!) To say a lot has changed since then would be a big understatement. While change can be hard, we hope you will embrace a new, much more powerful app that reflects modern industry standards - particularly when it comes to SuDS. When you're ready, we hope you will give it a try with our free trial (no credit card required). Until then, you can of course keep using Microdrainage.

When discussing problems of measuring and ESTABLISHING WATER LOSSES ALONG THE OPEN STREAMFLOES IN KARST along river channels in karst (Karst Hydrology for exp. Mediterrane area), reference is made primaly to upstream and middle reachs of the stream which are not located in typical and easily and easily discernible ponor zones and where and where the disapperance takes place through barely pereceptible small fissurrses, most frequenty at the bootom and rearlx at the side of OPEN stream ~ if we talk of a stream. The drying up is very rare in the winter period. It is occured now 3 time, before only twice. In order to find out where this water reaapears and to surface measurement points should be established as well as empirical probability curves for the number of drying up the days on minimum two stations at river all because we have Support Network OperationsIdentify area of suspected water loss can be a trigger for LEAKEGE. Also there is better linera dependece of losses on the section on the inflowing discharge. Fully connected in real time is so GOOD PRESENTED IN EVERY KARST PROBLEM. Than you civil engineer colegue!
